Say Hello to Our Team
At Silver Desert Midwifery LLC., care is centered with me as your primary midwife.
While I run a solo practice, I stay connected with a trusted network of local midwives and birth professionals.
This allows for collaboration, reliable backup support when needed, and continuity of care for my clients.
Taylor Rackey,
BSM, LM, CPM
I felt called to this work after the birth of my own son in 2011. At 19, I experienced an intervention-free hospital waterbirth under the care of a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). That experience shaped everything and set me on a path toward supporting other families during this transformative time.
After training as a doula through DONA International in 2016, I quickly realized my place in birth work went deeper. I was accepted into the 2018 cohort at the Midwives College of Utah, and that same year began working as a student midwife at a high-volume, free-standing birth center in Oregon.
There, I trained under three Certified Professional Midwives (CPM’s), learning a balance of traditional midwifery skills and family-centered, evidence-based care. During my apprenticeship, I attended over 115 births and completed more than 5,000 clinical hours.
I graduated magna cum laude from the Midwives College of Utah in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery and passed the NARM exam to become a Certified Professional Midwife. I went on to become licensed and a Medicaid provider in Oregon, where I continued attending births and refining my practice.
In 2023, my family and I returned to Nevada, where I built this practice to serve the community with midwifery care rooted in real, personal connection. I’ve since been accepted to Bastyr University for the 2026 cohort, where I’ll continue my master’s in maternal-child health.

I’m honored to serve as a birth assistant and support families through one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives.
As a mother of four, my own birth experiences and the care I received from midwives led me to this work. I feel deeply called to support other women during this time.
I’ve completed my Midwife Assistant Training + Certification, and I maintain current CPR/BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. I bring a steady, gentle presence to births and strive to help create a space where mothers feel safe, supported, and truly cared for.
